Kebob or Kebab is a type of meat dish that can be found worldwide. Kebob usually refers to a shish kebob served on a skewer. In the Middle East it includes grilled, roasted and stewed dishes of meat. Traditionally, lamb is used in a kebob but you can also use beef, goat, chicken, fish, seafood or veggie style with falafel or tofu. Kebobs are excellent for summer barbeque.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds beef, cubed
  • 1 green pepper, cubed
  • 1 onion, cubed
  • 1 yellow pepper, cubed
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp seven spices or mixed spice (available at Middle Eastern market)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • wood skewers

How To:

1. Chop the beef, green pepper, onion, and yellow pepper into cubes.

2. Place into a mixing bowl and add the salt, pepper, mixed spice and olive oil. Mix well.

3. Soak the skewers in water.

4. Place the beef, peppers and onions onto the “soaked” skewers and alternate to give the best presentation. Leave at least 1 inch on both ends. Place on the grill for cooking. If you like medium rare ~6 minutes, medium ~10 minutes, medium well to well done ~15-20 minutes.

Makes about 24 skewers
